Ajna
Ajna: Sixth Chakra
The colour of indigo radiates from this chakra which sits at the brow point, the third eye, the element is light. This chakra gives us depth and dimension into the subtle realms so we can develop our intuition; the inner wisdom beyond the duality of the positive and negative mind.
A balanced sixth chakra provides clear thinking, we trust our inner wisdom, and we are in attunement with our intuition. Physically the pituitary gland, the master gland of the endocrine system, is functioning optimally. The pituitary gland is the link between the mind and the body.
Signs of imbalance are confusion, fuzzy thinking. We become aimless. In our body it manifests as head-ache, sinusitis, brain tumor, stroke, blindness, learning disabilities, and anxiety disorders. We get possessive; we over consume becoming shopaholics.
Illusion is the demon of this chakra.
Physical eyes are the organs of outer perception. The third eye is our ability to see the internal screen projecting, intertwining images from our memory, from fantasy, from our intuition and from our imagination.
When our third eye is open and balanced we are able to see the big picture, transcending our ego and finding deeper meaning. As our inner sight is developed illusions are shattered, dreams are integrated, and clarity begins as our consciousness is developed.
Illusion closes our mind to perception. It is static, displacing us from the present. It is a place of fixation. When we fixate we are no longer able to appreciate what is. Thus we become removed from living authentically.
Our energy becomes tied up when we invest in illusion, and it perpetuates attachment, which often leads to self-fulfilling prophecy. Denial, obsession, and delusion, keep us in a repetitive cycle.
The Unaligned Ajna
- Emotions: Worry, confused, cold, unavailable, helplessness, afraid, paranoid.
- Mental: Doubt, worried, have to figure things out, have tangible proof, trapped in fantasy.
- Physical: not present in the physical body, do not enjoy the pleasures of the physical body.
- Social: Intellectual, Mr Wizard, Mr Fix it.
- Beliefs: Can have too many beliefs for ones own good. Only believes in what can be seen and measured.
- Behaviour: Calculated, ridged, controlling, manipulative.
The Balanced Ajna
- Emotions: Calm, clear. Trusts what is happening because in tune with what is happening. Peaceful.
- Mental: Focused, one-pointed. Intuitive. Have a sense of knowing what is working, what is not. Knowing in advance.
- Physical: aware of the physical body. Sensitive to surroundings.
- Social: live in an expanded sense of reality.
- Beliefs: believe in what can be perceived and felt.
- Behaviour: Sacred-secular intergration, able to elevate self and those around you.
If we open ourselves to our intuition in small ways, the really big messages will find a way to come through. When the intuitive mind is open we create a new vision of reality. This is not wishful thinking; thinking positively and hoping. It is about responding to the real world from our highest self. We become elevated to be our best. It is already within, just waiting for us to arrive. The sixth Chakra opens the door to the path of the soul. We become free from our worldly limitations, including those, which limit healing, happiness, prosperity and wisdom. We create an inner harmony.
Try this …
Go for a walk for an hour or so to allow yourself to be exposed to the full spectrum of light, this is particularly important if you work inside under fluorescent light, even 30 minutes on a lunch break would promote a sense of well being.
Meditate. This improves our focus and our concentration, as the mind begins to calm.
